Ada Medina
Ada Medina’s elemental wall sculpture uses mixed media such as wood, paper, paint, stain, leather, earth, and wax. Whether formed or organic, severe or quirky, they are a natural progression of their own laws, simultaneously allusive and unfamiliar. Created with care and attention, the artist knows that the aim is not a discrete object. The works’ vitality is found in that hidden moment, where the seemingly irreconcilable material/ insolidity, abstract/referential, formalism/animism, rawness/nuance support each other as a totality with no separation.
