Biography


STEPHEN CEFALO
Stephen Cefalo was born to American parents in Nurnberg, Germany. He studied painting at School of Visual Arts in New York City where he received his B.F.A, and then studied independently with New York realist painter, Steven Assael. He attended graduate school at Indiana University and received his M.F.A. Stephen’s instructors have also included Max Ginsburg, Bonnie Sklarski, Darren Kingsley, and Nelson Shanks.
Formerly a professor at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, Cefalo is now Artist-in-Residence at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. Cefalo has recently appeared in “At Home with the Human Experience”, a feature article about his work in The Artist’s Magazine, and was mentioned in American Art Collector as a “hot new find”. His paintings hang in numerous private and public collections including the Cincinnati Art Museum, Savannah College of Art and Design, The Florida State University Museum of Fine Arts, and the Howard A. and Judith Tullman collection in Chicago.
Stephen currently works and resides in Little Rock, Arkansas with his wife, Amy, and six children.
